Well, me too. So I recommend you check out FreeViral.com. It’s like a free, legal pyramid scheme for traffic generation. As part of the sign-up process you visit other user’s sites. Then you recommend it to other webmasters who want more traffic. They sign up, sending you free traffic. Their visitors also sign up, sending you and me even more traffic. And so on and so on.
In return, you agree to a weekly promo email. Doesn’t seem unreasonable.

Free viral sounds solid. It's probably not going to be a game changer (noting is ever going to replace quality content as a core driving force for hits) but it certainly looks like it could provide a much welcome helping hand, especially for a start up project.
Is the traffic targeted though? Sounds like everyone going through the motions simply to obtain traffic.

Write quality content, it doesn’t even have to be rocket science content, bookmark it at as many social bookmarking sites and post about it on social networking sites like twitter and facebook. Your friends and followers will hopefully notify their friends and followers and the virus has started.

It sounds very easy but i am not really sure if this becomes beneficial in the long run. I would still go for legitimate links but i will continue looking for additional reviews about this. I might change my mind and try this if i can see a lot of people getting good results from using it.

I have noticed "pyramid schemes" around but it is the first time I have heard of freeviral.com. I was just wondering if this will only benefit those who are already generating traffic and are just seeking to increase them as mentioned in the post, or will the noob with zilch-o traffic can also benefit from this.

I learned that most of the traffic generation technique work. It may not work for someone, but it may work for another. It's important to know what these people use (as everybody do for Google searchers.)
Even safelists and traffic exchanges can work if you know how to use them. The only problem with these method is that you need a lot of time.
