I run several different WordPress blogs, on topics ranging from chronic fatigue syndrome and building confidence for men, to writing and public speaking. I use Microsoft Windows 7 on my home PC to do all my blog and content development, and most of the software I use to do this is available free.

Here is the essential software I recommend every blogger needs:

Web Browsing

I'm not here to start another browser war. Opera has always been very cool, and Chrome sounded promising before Google's catch-cry switched from don't-be-evil to world-domination. I'm not even gonna mention the other guy, I'm already using their operating system, and that's more than enough. Firefox is the browser of choice here.
